Japan (July 2014)

Japan used to be my favorite country when I was a child. I don‘t know why - and to be honest, I never really knew that much about Japan apart from Tokyo, Mt Fuji and Anime -, but after hearing so much about it from many friends, I decided to give it finally a try. And I was so delighted about this decision! The whole Japanese culture is entirely different to the western lifestyle but in certain aspects so similar to my own personality (in terms of politeness) that in the three weeks in Japan, I found out that I wanted to extend my knowledge about this country.

The only bummer was that I didn‘t speak any Japanese at all - while the locals didn‘t really know English. (or was it just my accent?!) I so envied a non-asian guy I saw in the subway speaking with his japanese girlfriend an impeccable Japanese while I didn‘t know but こんにちは (Konnichiwa) or ありがとうございます (Arigatou gozaimasu). That was one of the reasons I immediately enroled in a japanese class back in Switzerland :-)

But now I‘d like to invite you to browsing through the selection of pictures I took in this far eastern country and let them inspire you too!
